From student and graduate roles to professional and even faculty opportunities, we're looking for enthusiastic, student-serving people from all walks of life.
LSU Residence Coordinators (RCs) are professional live-in staff members who oversee communities ranging from 300-700 students, a Graduate Residence Coordinator (GRC), and a team of Resident Assistants (RAs).
It might sound like a lot at first, but we’ve got you covered. As an RC at LSU, you can expect to be fully supported by your supervisors and colleagues.
As a residential education professional at LSU, you will work and live in an exciting atmosphere with opportunities for professional development and collaboration with campus partners. Serving on or chairing various committees, gaining on-call experience, partnering with residential college faculty, mentoring staff, training and teaching opportunities, hearing conduct cases, and traveling for professional development and staff retreats are all part of this well-rounded position.

LSU Graduate Residence Coordinators (GRCs) are live-in graduate student staff members under the supervision of a full-time Residence Coordinator. The GRC serves as a support in all aspects of building management, including student staff supervision, administrative management, and community development.

Receive a partial meal plan to eat with residents
Preference is given to Master’s students enrolled in the Higher Education Administration program. However, students in all programs are welcome to apply but must keep in mind the job expectations and availability needed for the position. Some graduate programs’ lab requirements may not be conducive to the responsibilities of the GRC position. Additionally, we are unable to sponsor an assistantship for graduate students enrolled in LSU Online programs.
Preference is given to applications received by mid-February for the following academic year.
The role as an RA is to know the residents in the community on a personal level, provide them with resources and support, and be excited for their successes.
RAs create programs that enhance community, serve residents’ personal and academic needs, build positive relationships with residents, and create and curate a safe environment where residents have opportunities to grow holistically.
As one of the premiere student staffing positions on campus, RAs are carefully selected, placed on a staff team, and trained to develop an inclusive and engaging experience for residents.

Step 3: Open House Info and Tour Night
At the Open House event, you will learn more about the RA position and the position requirements. Attendance is required and contributes to your overall score for your application consideration. This event also provides an RA-view tour of each community with an opportunity for some questions of current staff members to help prepare for the group and individual interviews to follow.
Step 4: RA Interview Weekend
The RA Interview Weekend is comprised of two events: group process interview and an individual interview. Attendance at this event is mandatory. This is your chance to showcase your experience with leadership, building relationships, and critical thinking.
Step 6: Offers Made
All decision letters will be available by the end of February.
Alternate Pool: If you are not offered a job in the initial offering and you are still a viable candidate, you will be invited to the Alternate Pool. This stage in the process allows for staffing needs to be filled from this group of applicants throughout the summer and into the fall semester as needs occur. You will need to accept your position in the Alternate Pool for continued consideration.
The RA Job and Returning Room Selection: If you are planning to live on campus for 2023-2024 regardless of getting an RA job offer, then we strongly recommend you go through the returning room selection process. If you are selected and accept an RA offer at any time, you will be reassigned to the RA room of your assigned community and any housing prepayment will be refunded. RA applicants are not given any priority through the room selection process.
Two faculty members live in campus residence halls to share the on-campus experience with students and blend student learning and development inside and outside the classroom.
Work with Residential Life staff to provide supportive living environments where students can engage with faculty
Interact with residents by eating with residents at on-campus dining halls, hosting conversations about current events, developing and/or attending programs with Residential Life staff on areas of interest, or leading an introductory LSU course
Serve as an ambassador to promote goodwill between Student Affairs and Academic Affairs
The application usually opens in February and requires a résumé/curriculum vitae, letter of Interest, letter of support from dean/department head, letter of recommendation from a student, and a letter of recommendation from a peer.

Housing Ambassadors are front-line guest service and recruitment specialists who lead tours and help guests.
Whether it’s a room lockout, package pick up, or submitting a work order, DAs handle it all.
The housing help desk offers hands-on practical experience in network and PC support.
Housing operates year-round and critical student roles continue over the summer.
