What is Project ImPACT? Project ImPACT is a parent-coaching program that helps caregivers support their child’s social communication skills during everyday activities like play and routines. Parents learn strategies to help their child communicate, engage, and connect more with others in natural, meaningful ways. Children appropriate for Project ImPACT typically present with early developmental differences that place them at risk for autism spectrum disorder, most notably delays in social communication and interaction. Families attend weekly 90-minute sessions for 12 weeks, where they will learn to recognize and follow their child’s interests, create opportunities for communication, and respond in ways that promote social reciprocity and language development. |
