Roger Hadfield Ogden Leaders Program

The Roger Hadfield Ogden Leaders Program enables undergraduate students in the Ogden Honors College to pursue a self-guided project of significance to the state of Louisiana. A student or student group receive up to $5,000 each to support self-designed, off-campus experiences, enabling them to pursue a passionate interest, develop independent leadership abilities, and contribute to society in a way and to a degree not otherwise possible.

Projects are designed by the applicant(s) and may consist of an independent travel or research project; may focus on humanitarian or social justice concerns at a local, national, or global level; or may enhance independent scientific research, artistic endeavors, and work already in progress. In all cases, the project must be conceived, planned, and undertaken by the applicant and may not be part of another program or effort.  While students may propose projects overseas, their studies must have relevance to issues or activities important  to the state of Louisiana.

Ogden Honors College students in good standing who have completed at least one but not more than six semesters of undergraduate study in any field are eligible to apply. The Program expects that selected students will pursue an Honors thesis prior to their graduations.
