Hodge Podge Cookbook

Hilltop’s first cookbook “Passalong Recipes from the Podge” was such a great success that a sequel has been created! Our Hodge Podge volunteers are calling this new endeavor Passalong Recipes from the Podge II “Digging Deeper.”

The cookbook features a collection of favorite recipes for appetizers, soups, salads, main dishes, vegetables, desserts, sweet breads and breakfast, and beverages. Each chapter opens with a typical plant label and features the favorite flowering plants of Emory Smith, a retired postal worker with a passion for native Louisiana plants, who donated the 14-acre Hilltop nature preserve to LSU in 1981.
