We offer comprehensive services to assist in the process of career development. As faculty or staff at LSU, all of our services are available to you as your own career develops. An individual appointment is a great place to start.
Career Champion Program
We know that students seek career advice from those they know and trust, and we want to support you in that process and recognize you as a partner of the LSU Olinde Career Center. The Career Champions program provides a tailored curriculum centered on giving LSU faculty and staff the skills, knowledge, and resources they need in order to help students through the career development process. Absent Professor Program
If you are unable to be in class, consider using the Absent Professor Program to schedule an LSU Olinde Career Center staff member to meet with your class and provide a 15– to 60-minute presentation on any career-related topic (including an overview of services offered). Before our presentation, we can take care of pertinent administrative tasks, such as checking roll or making announcements.

Liaison program
Our liaison program is designed to strengthen communication and collaboration between the LSU Olinde Career Center and various campus constituencies. This program connects our department with administration, faculty, staff, and students in each college and school, as well as with several special populations.

The most widely used and trusted confidential letter of recommendation service, Interfolio offers a secure and efficient way to submit and manage recommendations for students and colleagues.
Ethical & legal standards in student hiring
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the leading source of information on the employment of the college educated, provides a set of ethical standards for guiding the job-search process. The Principles for Professional Practice for Career Services & Employment Professionals provides a set of standards based on notions of fairness, equal opportunity, truthfulness, non-injury, confidentiality, and lawfulness.
Internship Council
The university formed the LSU Internship Council to create a more diverse and comprehensive internship program with input from faculty, staff, administrators, community leaders and students. Today, this council works diligently to increase the number of students with strong skills in critical thinking, creative problem solving and effective communication as outlined in the university's strategic plan.
