Division of Inclusion, Civil Rights & Title IX

The Division of Inclusion, Civil Rights & Title IX oversees the university's compliance programs and obligations and leads the university's efforts in the prevention of and response to all matters of discrimination on LSU campuses. The office also oversees initiatives that ensure students from historically underrepresented populations matter and belong in the LSU community. 

The Division includes the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX and the Office of Diversity & Inclusion.

Office of Civil Rights & Title IX

The Office of Civil Rights & Title IX was created in 2022 to ensure students, faculty and staff are treated fairly with no discrimination or bias. The office is led by the Vice President of Inclusion, Civil Rights & Title IX and is located in 118 Himes Hall, a central location on campus and an easily accessible space for students in need.

The LSU Office of Civil Rights & Title IX oversees the university’s compliance with:

• The Americans with Disabilities Act
• Civil Rights
• The Jeanne Clery Act
• Title IX enforcement and procedures

Office of Diversity & Inclusion

The mission of the Office of Diversity & Inclusion (ODI) is to provide leadership and accountability that fosters an inclusive educational experience and equitable workforce environment.

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion supervises and guides professional units whose purpose and mission is to promote mattering and belonging.  These units include:

• The Office of Multicultural Affairs
• The Clarence L. Barney Jr. African American Cultural Center
• The Women’s Center
• Works closely with university committees, commissions, task forces, and affinity groups whose charge is to support underrepresented LSU community members
