Call For Creative Design Submissions
2D and 3D Design Presentation Abstracts
The Fashion and AI × Policy Symposium invites design scholars to submit abstracts presenting original creative design scholarships. Submissions must showcase original design work that integrates themes of artificial intelligence, culture, and/or policy. Eligible works may include 2D garment collections generated with AI tools, 3D garments virtually fitted, or physical garments patterned and constructed by the designer(s).
AI tools must play an integral role in the design process. This may include, but is not limited to, AI-assisted concept development, 2D or 3D garment generation, virtual fitting, and the development of physical garments.

Creative Design Evaluation Criteria
- Concept: The abstract should clearly articulate the purpose of the design and the design challenge addressed.
- Aesthetic and Visual Impact: The abstract should explain how principles of design are applied to achieve a compelling visual outcome.
- Method: The abstract should describe how AI tools were implemented in the design process, including workflow steps, techniques used within AI platforms, and garment construction methods (for physical garments or 3D virtual fitting garments).
- Contribution: The abstract must clearly articulate the design’s contribution to the field of fashion and design scholarship.
Presentation Format
Designers of accepted works will present their designs in a formal presentation. The PowerPoint presentation should clearly illustrate the design concept and process. 2D AI-generated designs and 3D virtual garments may be presented digitally, while physical 3D garments will be displayed during the presentation (dress forms will be provided upon request from the designer).
